Out of admiration for the accomplishments of those brilliant buggers who figured out how to keep time (a notion I still find challenging), we visited the Clocks and Watches Exhibit based in The Forbidden City’s Fengxian Hall.
Collected between 1736 and 1820, the timepieces hailed mostly from China, England, France and Switzerland. More ornate than the burlesque girls we’d seen the night before, these masterpieces were crafted out of gold, pearls, jade and gems.
Time flew inside the walls of the hall, checking out these delightful creations dedicated to tracking to the ticking minutes of our lives.
Tempus fugit when you’re having fun.
