ROSEMARIAN THE LIBRARIAN
It was with squishy-leaky eyes that I watched my six-foot tall ‘baby’ walk on stage on June 4 at McCaw Hall and graduate Seattle Academy.
In a display of regal proportions, each senior sat in a throne on stage as teachers showered accolades on the students and their early life achievements.
Over the top? Perhaps a little. But the drippingly complimentary take on our not-so-little loved ones was super-satisfying to the sentimental audience.
Unbeknownst to us, the teachers said Rosemary’s nickname at school was “Rosemarian the Librarian” – for her intellectual curiosity and her “graduate-level approach to her studies.” Now if I may just brag a little here (I’m sorry, I hate it when parents do this, but please humor me), Rose graduated in the top of her class with high honors.
Next stop: Hampshire College in Massachusetts.
