WALK ON BY
Check this out.
According to the American Cancer Society, one in three women will get cancer at some point in their lives, and one in TWO men will.
Now – not to be a Debbie Downer – but that means some of you reading this are going to get cancer some day, just like me!
Excited? It’s kind of like playing Russian Roulette without agreeing to play the game.
But the good news is, that’s the bad news.
Eradication of Candyland monsters is getting better and better and better as Candyland cowboys develop increasingly effective Trojan horses.
BUT, there aren’t magic bullets for every form of the disease … yet. And certainly not for Brain Candy.
So on Sept. 21, there’s a Brain Candy walk to benefit Pacific Northwest-based research institutions.
Dear friend Annette has a team called Team Deirdre (thank you very much) that is walking for the benefit. I’m joining the team as the featherless mascot, and our group is growing.
So, if any of you want to join us for a Saturday morning walk, it’s cheap to sign up. Or if you don’t want to walk because you’re too overwhelmed by the news that you may just have to go to Candyland some day, you can simply donate a little somepin somepin online.
Here are the deets:
SIGN UP TO WALK: www.braincancerwalk.org (search for TEAM DEIRDRE)
