You can only watch so much news.

Every night, I now wrangle “the clicker” from Kathy’s FOX News-happy hands and rove On Demand for something simple, something funny, and preferably, something old that may feel like a comfortable sweater to Kathy.

I can’t say how great Woody Allen, Peter Sellers, Blake Edwards and a whole host of stars, starlets and directors are and how helpful they are in taking Kathy away from her worries for 80 or 90 minutes.

Who knew that a warm glass of milk could come in the form of a little celluloid levity filled with glamour, music, and human compassion sans contrivance?
