We forewent Hempfest in favor of the Rainier Valley Culture Fest Weekend in Columbia City today, mostly because we wanted to see floats JUST LIKE THIS ONE. Next year, I want to enter the parade and strap a bunch of paintings from snowy Utah onto the Vanagon and celebrate my polygamous Mormon ancestry, but I digress …

Because I am ultimately such a sap, I teared up as each group walked by, and scratched my head when groups like ‘The Bhutanese Community IN Seattle’ passed, thinking, “Right, Bhutan. Where is that again?”

Anyway, it was super fun and I love Columbia City and it’s better than Paris on any rainy day.
